Plein Aire: Thursdays

 

Members exhibits:

Pat Towery will be exhibiting at the County Government Building on the fifth floor with a new collection of Iris watercolors- the Rainbow Goddesses Children, August 20-October 18. There are two First Friday receptions, September 7 and October 5 , both from 5-8PM

Pat will also be taking part in the Annual spring Show at the 17th Ave. Studios on May 5 and 6 from 11AM to 6PM both days. The studios are located at 980 17th. Ave., Santa Cruz across from the Simpkins Swim Center. Pat will be showing watercolors and mixed media work as well as handmade paper works.

 

Lee Taiz will be showing watercolors at Cooper Street Hair Salon, in the Galleria complex, through May.

Workshops/Classes:

Pat Towery will be co-teaching Papermaking Classes at the Scotts Valley Artisans.

Linda Lord- Watercolor at the Santa Cruz Art League; 6 Thursdays beginning March 8 at 1-4PM- all levels $145/$125 (SCAL members.)

The main objective is to improve skills while having fun with guided projects.  Bring materials and a sense of humor.

Linda is a member of the SCWS, an Open Studios artist and published illustrator.  She also exhibits annually in Cozumel, Mexico.

. Offered: April 28 & 29 Level: Beginner Plus/Intermediate Time: 9:00-3:30, please bring lunch Fee: $150 / $130-Members Instructor J0-neal boic Jo-Neal Boic has been a teacher for more than thirty-five years, both in public school and private. She has been painting in watercolor for twenty-three years.

Loosening up with Watercolors
 All levels are welcome as Bonni demonstrates her refreshing approach to keeping watercolors full of life. She demonstrates in the mornings and provides each painter with personal help throughout the session. Bring a sack lunch, painting materials and an open heart!! (materials’ list provided upon registration) Offered: May 5 & 6 Time: 9-3:00, Fee: $150 / $130-Members Instructor: Bonni Carver Bonni has attended the Academy of Art (now the Academy of Art University) and the Art Institute of San Francisco. Charles Reid’s workshops have strongly influenced her approach and encouraged her to paint the figure.Bonni has been teaching art for the past 13 years and has been an Open Studio participant.

 

Gerald Brommer will be teaching a workshop for Watercolor Artists of Sonoma County (WASCO) in Santa Rosa, California.

April 11-15 2012 (Wed-Sun).

Cost is $425 for WASCO Members/$475 non-members.

The focus will be on design and content in landscape painting (class is studio – not plein aire)

He will also demo his new 3-D collage technique on Thursday April 12th. Time and location TBD. Details will be posted at www.wascoart.org as they become available.
