Northwest Watercolor Society Spring Workshop
Kathy Winters will be taking a much deserved break from running the popular Spring Paint Out on Samish Island this year and Jan Wurn will be filling in for her.
As those of you who have attended know, NWWS members and friends can spend a few days painting inside or outside of the buildings, networking, eating great meals cooked by the extraordinary staff and share techniques with their fellow artists on the church campgrounds overlooking spectacular views of Samish Bay, oyster beds and the San Juan Islands. It’s a truly renewing and restful experience.
The 16th Annual Spring Samish Paint Out will be held from dinner on Wednesday May 11th through breakfast on Sunday May 15th. No children or pets, please and no liquor is allowed on the premises. Both beginners and experienced painters are welcome and you do not have to be a member of the NWWS to attend.
If you want to attend, please fill out the registration form on the NWWS website (click to open) and mail it with your check to the address at the bottom of the form. The Spring camp fills up fast and there are artists waiting to register so please respond ASAP so that you don’t miss out! You may call Jan at 425-486-6781 or email her at Jwurn@Hotmail.com if you have any questions.
Lodging and all meals are included in the cost. There are two types of lodging, plus RV spaces are available. There are 16 newer rooms that have attached bathrooms shared by two rooms and there are individual cabins that require a short walk to bathrooms. If you would like one of the new rooms you need to register immediately since they fill up very fast.
There are enough cabins for everyone to have their own but several have four to six cots per cabin if you want to room with friends and many campers do. Each camper must provide pillows and all bedding. The standard cabins are basic- heat, lights and cots with mattresses.
Dress for the northwest- cool, misty, hot, sunny, Whatever! and bring enough paper and other supplies to last the weekend as there are no art stores nearby.
Full registration payment will be due on or before April 19th and checks should be made out to the “Northwest Watercolor Society” (or NWWS) and sent to my address. A deposit of $75.00 will hold your space, but you will have to act immediately.
Cancellations made within a week of the event may not be refundable if your cabin reservation cannot be filed at the last minute.
An email will be sent in early May to all registrants giving directions, a map to camp and other helpful information.
Looking forward to seeing you, Jan Wurn 9324 NE 176th Street Bothell, WA 98011-3619
