The juror for the 76th Annual International Open Exhibition is Jeannie McGuire, a Pittsburgh-based artist whose painting was the American Watercolor Society’s144th Gold Medal of Honor selection. Her work has been described as a brilliant combination of emotion, movement, natural design, and sheer artistry that has been expanded upon from her days as a commercial graphic designer and photographer. She will be teaching a workshop from April 25-29, 2016 and registration will begin in December 2015. Information about the workshop can be found on the Open prospectus or the NWWS website.
The Northwest Watercolor Society was founded in 1939 in Seattle, Washington, when a group of eight artists came together to form an organization dedicated to the celebration of watercolor. From these modest beginnings, NWWS has grown into the internationally recognized, historically rich organization of today with a membership nearing 900 Signature, Lifetime, and Associate Members across the U.S., Canada, and also internationally.
