SCWS Annual Meeting: Tuesday, February 19,2019. 11:30am. This is our annual potluck, social, business meeting. 229 Fridley Drive, Santa Cruz, CA. When you arrive, there will be space in the driveway, but if you are parking on the street, please take a parking card from the mailbox and place it in your automobile window. Please bring a painting if you would like to have a short Crit (note- we will not be having Crit at the Art League on this Tuesday). SCWS Annual Show in conjunction with the Metal Art League: Santa Cruz Art League- July 19- September 15. First Friday will be August 2 6-8pm. Particulars for entries will be posted after our 2019 annual meeting.

Watercolor-Linda Lord Thursdays: Instructor, Linda Lord, all levels. Offered 6  Thursdays beginning 2/28/2019 1pm-3:30pm Fee: $160/$140 member price.  This class is geared to facilitate those who have never painted and those who have advanced their skills.

Beginning Watercolor- Linda Lord.  Offered 6 Fridays, beginning: 03/01/19, 1.00pm – 3.30pm  Fee $160/$140 member price.  This class is aimed at familiarity of  Materials, as well as why to chose them.  In the 6 weeks, we  will endeavor to produce 6 pieces.  Each session will comprise of an instructor demo on which a painting will be based.

One day  watercolor workshop, Saturday 02/23/19, 10am – 4pm with Robert Dvorak, all levels – Learn to paint fast and free. Fee: $89.

 2 day weekend workshops with Instructor: Jo-Neal Boic  all levels ,03/09 – 03/10/19, 10am – 3pm This workshop is an introduction to the medium of watercolor. It will include the basic techniques used in painting with watercolor; wet into wet, washes, creating hard & soft edges,  layering/glazing and a combination of these. We will also review color theory and how it applies to watercolor. Fee: $160.00 / $140.00 members price

 Two day Weekend Workshop – 04/27 & 04/28/19, 10am – 3pm with Jo Neal Graves This Intermediate level class will include a variety of skills instruction and practice.  How do you create the fold of a leaf or flower petal, the fold of fabric or the surface texture of wood? Can you paint a convincing water drop or effectively paint reflections on water. How do you paint a windowpane that looks real? How about painting water? We will focus primarily on creating the illusion of form, painting reflections/reflective surface and negative space painting through a series of exercises Additional Instructions: Please bring a lunch. Fee: $160 / $140 member price
