Our annual show is coming up quickly. If you have not yet done so, please send your entry fee to Dale Johnson: 709 Walnut Santa Cruz, 95060.
The 2018 show will again be at the R. Blitzer Gallery in the old Wrigley’s building.
Membership and $100 for essentially a ten foot hanging space, $35 for single entries and $25 for 2nd and 3rd entries. We will again hang the show with designated spaces for each member’s entries so your work will be seen as a unit with your name displayed over your section. (If you need further guidelines for the ten foot spaces that can be found in the SCWS April 2016 Newsletter on the SCWS website.) We encourage your entries to be for sale. When you are pricing, please remember that the gallery holds 20% of the sale price. Please commit to entries by June 30, 2018. We will need your name, the entry fee (mail or hand to Dale Johnson 709 Walnut Ave. Santa Cruz 95060). the titles, sizes and prices of your entries (send to me at waveland@cruzio.com. Below is the format that would be most helpful. Please just type in the information within the format so that I can paste it all together in a consistent manner. All pieces need to be framed and ready to hang. *Please use white matting. If your framing varies from the white matting, or if there is any other consideration for your display, please check with Aimee or Linda. We are not anticipating large problems as your work will be hung as a unit. The hanging committee will attempt to make the show cohesive if there is any variation.
The option for matted entries will also continue. If you have reserved the ten foot option, you may also share a bin for up to 10 matted entries. Last year’s show included 5 shared bins. We need to continue sharing bins. Otherwise the show becomes too crowded. I will also need a record of the matted pieces, their titles and prices for cataloging.
We would like to have all information in place by the end of June. If you are showing in July and question whether or not you will have a piece that you would like to show available in August, please list that with your entries and let me know before the hanging if anything has changed. (It is easier to erase and entry than to write it in at the last minute.)
